The entrepreneurial spirit in Lesotho is alive and well. We just need a platform to showcase it.
There are various challenges in Maseru's business environment. First, office space is very limited, thus making the cost of rent very high. Second, unemployment is rampant - about 25% nationally and 35% among the youth. Third, there are thousands of small businesses registered yet we feel neither their presence nor their contribution to innovation.
The idea behind GrindNation is to create a CoWorking Space and incubator that:
1) Provides office space where small businesses can flourish while saving on overhead costs through the sharing of infrastructure
2) Offers a program for young talent and new businesses
3) Puts forward support structures by way of workshops, market exposure, educational resources, mentorship, and networking events
4) Creates an environment that promotes successful entrepreneurship
Over time, this ecosystem will ignite change through creativity, co-creation and collaboration.
